VISION:
A community where all will have equal opportunity and work together to seek lasting solutions for their common problems.
MISSION:
Building a sustainable and social cohesive community together through educative and training programs.
BACKGROUND:
Community Education Empowerment (COEDEM) started its activities in 2014 with the vision bearer (Beatrice Atanga) as a neighborhood project. The vision bearer has the passion for humanitarian activities geared towards less privileged children as well as towards empowering the women. She has always wanted to assist and uplift the plights of those suffering from gender inequality or gender based violence. Single handedly, she ran the initial projects in her neighborhood until the out break of the Cameroon Anglophone crises in 2017. Following the increase in demand of humanitarian services due to the crises (as so many hundreds of thousands of children could not attend school, have basic needs like food, shelter, clothing and health, women becoming widows and suffering from gender based violence being on the increase) she decided to consult other persons who have same passion so that they could reason together and broaden the services to other communities. This led to the formation of Community Education and Empowerment (COEDEM) in 2017.
The target population of the organization since then has been receiving assistance in the domains of education, nutrition, health and agriculture. Also both the women and men have been receiving empowerment through seminars/workshops to combat gender based violence, gender inequality and learning how to live in harmony and peace despite their cultural and denominational differences.
The organization legally registered with authorization No: 25/C72/AR/NW06/2022/A2/SP.
Due to the magnitude of humanitarian activities warranted by the Anglophone Crisis in the NW and SW Regions of Cameroon, the board of directors decided to establish its Main Offices in Bamenda where it can better run activities on the ground..
